Lubyanka

The neighbourhood of Lubyanka is the heart and centre of Russian history. Wonderful architecture of the Cathedral of Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God of Sretensky Monastery (XIV century) and brick palace of boyars Khovansky, who were the leaders of the Streltsy uprising in 1862 in Moscow. On Lubyanka there are also: the Polytechnic Museum, the Museum of History of Moscow, the building of the Federal Security Service (former KGB). A monument to victims of Stalin’s political repressions.
